Xenoblade Genesis Nintendo Direct Trailer

Here's the trailer for the 2027 GOTY that will be overshadowed by some other games that aren't worthy, just like XC3 was that year.
I kid I kid, but it's going to be great if the XC trilogy is any indication.
Is it called Xenoblade Megadrive in Europe ?
Fire Emblem I think should be way more popular. I've tried to introduce people to Xenoblade games and most people I've had try it do not like the combat. I can manage it to enjoy the story. But others, the gameplays not enticing to most of my friends
Time to get better friends, of course.
I loved the gameplay, but I think they said a while ago that the next game will feature a different system. Since the trailer didn't show any gameplay I'm somewhat anxious about that.
I love the series, especially XCX even though it doesn't look like they're revisiting it any time soon.
The combat is kinda casual mmorpg tier when you're mid-lategame. It's similar to having perhaps a third of the moveset of lancer in FFXIV once you get going. Like sure, there's some amount of positioning or build composition for the team, but it's still very tiny compared to games with robust combat systems.
The game shines with the amazing, wondrous open worlds. Then there's the characters with great personalities, and the stories that tie it all together. Plus the fairly robust post-game grind is enjoyable. There's a lot to love, but definitely not the early to mid game combat for me anyway.
That's me and I'm so excited!! The world looks like it takes place in a dyson sphere, Monolith flexing with their world design.
I've seen some people online have complaints about the school setting shown off, but it seems they don't remember how much (XC spoilers)
Tap for spoiler
Xenoblade games love to dramatically change the status quo within the first chapter or two. Fiora getting murdered & colony 9 blowing up, Rex getting murdered & resurrected, the Ouroboros party being forcefully freed from military service and no longer bound by their flame clocks.
Yeah I expect maybe the first chapter or two to be set at this school and then something kicks off the journey to deal with this “god” they mention. AND EVEN THEN there could be a twist.
Definitely! I do hope it keeps itself as its own story rather than forcing itself to connect to Chronicles (since that would seem antithetical to the message of 3) but either way I'm excited to play it eventually
Until I know differently, I have this feeling like this world is one that could have been "seeded" by another ship from earth and just evolved differently.
But I have zero evidence of that. I just assume there will be some sort of tie into the other games.
However, these characters are just humans and elves and there are zero Nopon in this trailer (but there was a short cat character shown in one split second). Could very well be totally different. And that's fine, too.
It is hard to think about a game that doesn't have Mio and Noah in the crew, though. They are so good I wonder how I can even be as in love with any new characters as I was with them. I'm not worried, really. But XC3 was like the mountaintop, and now we are starting all fresh so I just don't know yet. It's going to be great, though.
I'm excited for this one. It will probably be my third Switch 2 game purchase after Bananza and OoT. I appreciate that they gave us a 2 minute glimpse of it even though it won't be coming out until next year, considering we got diddly squat for OoT which comes out later this year!
That’s a good point that they gave such a meaty (Lanz wants something meatier!) trailer a year out. Thats how you know it’s coming along nicely AND there’s way more story to tell than what they’ve shown.
I missed a fucking bombshell of a direct didn't I?
It was honestly pretty packed with stuff. It’s been one of the better ones in a long time.
