‘Toy Story 5’ First Reactions Praise Pixar’s Sequel as a ‘Deeply Profound’ and ‘Moving’ Film That ‘Ranks Right Alongside’ the Original

The first reactions for 'Toy Story 5' suggest Pixar's long-running franchise remains in top form.

These phrases might be handpicked, and the actual reviews are organic and decent; but this reminds me of PR campaign for a very bland movie.

I dunno Toy Story 3 was the perfect end to the story. Then they made 4 which is a blatant cash grab

Honestly, I liked 4 more than I liked 3; but (anecdotally) the world agrees with you.

The fact they've gotten up to 5 movies in this series, all of which received full and theatrical releases, still feels absolutely surreal. Like something from a satire on corporate reliance on already existing IP.

I can say the trailer is not doing this movie any favors. One of these days my eyes are going to roll straight out of my skull when I hear Woody say "toys are for play, but tech is for everything." It reads like a shitty boomer Facebook post

Still annoyed they used Tom instead of his brother.

Ootl. Why?

Tom gave woody to his brother as his brother does an amazing job and obviously Tom is winding down. Most woody people have heard had been his brother, but for this he must have wanted to do the movie.

Interesting, Ty

You should know by now that first reactions from people who got to see the movie early and for free due to industry connections are not to be trusted.

No

I’m only going to watch it for Conan O’Brien. Let this be a signal to all producers: Conan is your key. Conan is the way. Conan is the only nostalgia that matters. #CastConan
