City council is expected to vote on the bylaw in July, with the new rules coming into force in September.
Most of the rules target behaviour, such as requiring people on the bus to wear footwear and prohibiting riders from putting their feet on the seats or sleeping. The sleeping ban is aimed at substance users who pass out on the bus, not people who nod off, the committee heard.

I didn't even know pets were allowed on buses at any capacity! That means when I took my pet chinchilla to the university vet clinic in a duffel bag 10 years ago I wasn't breaking any laws, lol.
