After a quick break I'm back on the self portrait! I'm trying to finish up the larger portions of the sides now, then I just have to fill in a lot of tiny gaps!

This may be a stupid question but how did you pick the colours? I suppose it may be easier with online ordering but I imagine myself being in the shop overwhelmed af.
I used the website https://flosscross.com/to generate the pattern from my original photo! It lets you customize the size, how many colors, and ultimately what the final piece will look like!
I have made patterns on there before that turned out disastrous because I tried to go too big with them lol you really have to play around with it because it will let you make something that looks photorealistic almost but then it has 350 colors and is MASSIVE
This one ended up being 25 colors total which is not too bad! You really have to play around with it though because the initial impulse is always that more colors = better and it can get overwhelming for sure!
