Kanonenfieber - Menschenmühle

It's impossible for me to remember this song exists and only listen to it once

Crossposting to music@lemmy.world

Nice! Slow Heat here, from the same album. Can't get enough of it.

It's not exactly on heavy rotation, as I tend to mix things up most of the time, but have put on Coffin for Head of State by Fela Kuti quite a lot recently.

Sophie Ellis-Bextor - Murder On The Dancefloor

My last Spotify wrapped said it was a Hozier song. Hozier is not to my personal taste, I use my scarce free-spotify-account skips when Hozier songs come up. I don't believe for one second they are my most listened to.

From my Jellyfin music library, most frequent are Air Traffic Controller and Silversun Pickups. I have many of their songs downloaded on my phone so spend a good portion of flights and car trips listening to them.

Alle meine Brüder tot - Ufo361

I have rediscovered an old one that I just love so much.

The theme to “Where the Hell is Matt, 2008.”

These Days - Powderfinger

I keep bouncing back to Chinatown by Thin Lizzy at the moment, dunno why

🤘🫰

I don't know what my most played song currently is but I can tell you what has been the most played for the last 15 years and it's this one.

Every single time I install a computer this is the soundtrack to test the audio. At first it was annoying, the dog barked, kids screamed and the elderly cursed me. Now, of I don't play I'm asked if I'm feeling under the weather.

Look How Far - Modest Mouse

Edit: now if we're talking past year, The Continuum I-IV on Coheed's Vaxis 3 easily takes the trophy lol

This year?

Beach Bunny — "Year of the Optimist"

All time? Probably

Brian Adams — "Summer of '69"

Padme - Annem eteĝimi vermedi

Tap for chorus translation.

Mom didn't give my skirt back.
"You are a boy" she said, "no."
"They wouldn't put up with it outside" she said.
Mom didn't give my skirt back.

It's pretty rare to find songs written for trans people in my language, and I love punk rock so I am addicted now lmao.

Liquid Tension Experiment - Rhapsody in Blue

I've liked LTE since I first heard them in 1999, and RiB has been a cool song to me for ages as well. I love how they combine even though I'm sure Gershwin would be rolling in his grave

1: Closing Time, by Semisonic, but that's because I put it on when I'm trying to hustle people out of the store at the end of a day

2: Batman Theme, by Neal Hefti

3: Evil Plot to Blow Up Batman, by Neal Hefti, but those are because my daughter kept insisting she wanted to listen to the 1960s Batman soundtrack on the way to school.

Numbers 4-6 are from the Frozen Soundtrack for the same reason, then back to 1960s Batman for 7-9.

10: The Batman Theme, by the Ventures. Kid loves Batman.

Then there's more Batman, more Frozen, and a song from The Little Mermaid. The first song that I consistently choose to listen to for myself and that hasn't been artificially inflated is #15.

Victim of Love, by Erasure.

Ha, same reason for me, but my son likes less annoying music.

  1. Vampire Weekend - Sunflower (feat. Steve Lacey). It’s his shower time song.
  2. Ok Go - a bunch of their Videos are a staple of winding down before bed too. I’m not a big fan of their music, but the videos are pretty well done, they’re basically a video art collective that makes generic indie rock soundtracks at this point. Which is perfectly cromulent.

Probably Electric Six - The Green Building.

By Your Side - Sade

DEADLIFE - Collapse is Imminent

been obsessed with this for weeks

apparently it's a tie between Exuviæ by Rendez Vous and DTLA by Mareux

Probably something with Meshuggah. Although in the last week I've been coming back to Venjent's first album a lot.

Lust of Power - Gabriel Saban

Also one called Upwards over the mountains - Iron and wine, kinda reminds me of my brother

This month it's probably temcandoanything - teto's territory

Basically any track from the new Vince Staples album, but if I had to pick one - https://vincestaples.bandcamp.com/track/the-running-man
