  • 60 ml dry vermouth
  • 20 ml Bénédictine liqueur
  • half barspoon absinthe

Stir with ice and a lemon peel. Serve with a lemon twist.

I just bought a bottle of Bénédictine, and I was excited to try it in a cocktail, as I really like it straight. This works well with the vermouth as a aperitif drink.

The absinthe is strangely not that noticeable, even though it usually tends to be one of the first flavor I taste. I might increase it a bit next time, as I do like it quite a lot haha.

What proof is the Bénédictine? This looks like a low ABV cocktail but delicious

Bénédictine is 40%, so overall a fairly low alcohol content (even though there is no juice or mixer). It means it is ok on a Thursday ^^

That's great. I love a pure alcohol cocktail (no mixer or juice) which means they are pretty strong. It's nice to have an option to have more of them

I'll have to try this! I like Benedictine but it's a bit sweet for me. I like a B&B made at 1:3 or 1:4 ratio.

Also be sure to try out a Vieux Carré with your Benedictine.

Vieux Carré is definitely on my list! I just need to find some creole bitters, or something close enough

I made myself one now, and I can see what you mean about the absinthe, even after I added a little more. I think this is one of those drink where the flavors combine in a way that tastes different than the parts.

I like this a lot, I think I'll be having a lot of these this summer!
