Trump’s Iran Predicament Is His Own Fault

Yeah there's no "win" here for the US. My bet is the conflict goes on and on then goes cold and something else happens that grabs everyone's attention. The old slowly walk away and hope people's attention spans are short tactic. I've half suspected this to be a ploy to reroute shipping to Venezuela which is now like a US satellite state, particularly its oil wealth. Also to encourage the end of OPEC. My hope is they don't nuke them, that could quickly spiral into a really bad day for everyone.

Best win is to not play. I don't know why he's waiting for a deal, like we need permission from Iran to leave. It looks weak to need Iran's permission to leave a conflict we have nothing to gain from.

I don't think the goal is the one that's plastered on the global news. I think the goal is like I put in my previous comment. If that's the case then all of their actions make perfect sense. The straight being closed is exactly what they want. The longer it goes the better for the suggested goals.

That's fair. Rarely is the goal "make things better for the American people and avoid big bills others will pay." Often, people will say that politicians are stupid because they make obviously bad decisions that will turn out bad. But it assumes that the goal is to make things good. No politician does that. But everyone lies to themselves, that at least half the politicians are working for them.
