In the dead of night, behind a screen, the president’s name was purged from the facade of the Washington building
Donald Trump’s name has been removed from the facade of the Kennedy Center in Washington DC, hours after a judge rejected an emergency appeal to block the removal of the president’s name.
Work began in the early hours of Saturday, shortly after the performing arts venue missed a federal judge’s two-week deadline to excise the words “The Donald J Trump and” from its exterior by Friday at 11.59pm local time.
The extra words were added last December after Trump’s handpicked board of trustees voted unanimously to rename the venue, which was designated as a living memorial to the 35th US president, John F Kennedy, by Congress in 1964 and opened in 1971.
12hr, just to setup scaffolding, to remove what was put up in a couple hours via cherrypicker...
Thy that's the thing with all his damage. Repairing it will cost exponentially more than causing it.
Physical, financial, economical, reputational....
It's going to be a long LONG time before America has any resemblance of recovery.

100% it was put up quickly in a cheery picker to get it done illegally before it could be stopped. Because getting it taken down via the legal system would take forever in comparison. That's not a coincidence.
Now if only someone would remove Trump from existence.
It's going to be so funny when he puts it back again, but increasingly haphazardly and through shadier and shadier contractors.
When they then pay people to remove the replacement, is it the equivalent of the Keynesian idea of providing government work to pay a man to dig a hole then fill it up?
We're putting Americans back to work, one Kennedy Center sign change at a time
I hear his pool guy is once again available.
The extra words
Love the subtle jab, rather than saying “name”
