Wow, C3PO looks even more like Fritz Lang‘s Maria.
one of the McQuarrie books actually showcase the evolution of C3PO from a Metropolis reference all the way to final design.
Old ass star Wars concepts always look so damn cool. Sometimes cooler than the finalized thing.
Rinzler actually did a comic book adaptation of the Star Wars original draft for Dark Horse. It is even earlier than this picture because Han is still technically the Chewbacca (hard to explain). It is wild and unruly.
Alright I gotta track this fable down
