I took this a few weeks ago, waffling back and forth about whether or not I should really post it. There’s ultimately only one test for me, in what makes a good photograph: do I want to see it again?

When I realized I’ve been seeing this a while lot of times cause I really liked it but I didn’t know if Lemmy and Pixelfed would like it, well, it passed the test. In particular, it’s the lighting chaos in the store that makes the picture for me.

Store is called “Marsh & Mallow,” and Mallow is the name I use at coffee shops and restaurant waiting lists and such, which was a happy coincidence.

Thanks for seeing my much-debated work!

And cause someone’s gonna be all “yo, what’s with that ledge in the bottom right corner?” If I removed it, the support column above it goes too and I like that too, and that ledge’s angle and positioning goes well with the rest of the picture. Let the ledge be. Sit on it and see the rest of the picture. It’s a good ledge.

Hard to believe you even needed to debate posting it - if you want "intersecting lines in architecture" photos, how could you not want this? I also like the couple outside the store, not highlighted but just giving a human touch. And the bench just gives a sense of "this is real, not an CAD drawing", so it doesn't fret me.

Thank you! I’m glad you like it!
