Well yeah, but then again no. He sells well to a particular segment. Also it really wasn't that long ago he was regarded as essentially real life Tony Stark by a wide enough chunk of the world that they could just massage the media to make that the reporting.

Oh no the shine has worn off for people with the smallest hint of principal. About the same time I heard him speak the first time I realised he was a fuckwit who only managed to get where he was via family money and failing upwards.
Same as I broadly didn't mind the first Tesla I saw, these days I wouldn't buy one under any circumstances. Part of that is all the car people I know pointing out how shit they are, part is how cringe everyone who owns/drives one is, and the rest is a deep-seated desire to not give that fuckwit any more money.

We all know mate. No one is saying he has a trillion dollars sitting in a bank account. Money is also fake. We made it up. It's just less fake to you than stocks.
Stocks are speculation on the value of a company. Currency is speculation on the value of a country.
They both become worthless if we all go arm ourselves and kill the right people. They're nothing more than ideas we all decide to agree on. We (the world) all just happen to currently agree that we measure an individuals "wealth" to include their current stocks they hold.
