I forget what those are called but they are MASSIVE
Looks like a Cecropia moth. Very cool!
Up to a 7-inch wingspan. They’re the size of hummingbirds.
Wow, this is a big moth, a huge one. One could say, it's a BEHEMOTH !
Whoa, that is super pretty
He's so beautiful! I've always wanted to see one in the wild.
Moths are beautiful.
Then again, I just noticed how much of it's body and legs look like they belong to a chunky spider.
Many spiders are also beautiful, so it makes sense.
That sounds like an old-timey euphemism for some kind of STD.
MOTH
Genuinely so beautiful
Any idea what the texture is of the fuzzy body? Soft? Prickly? Smooth?
Soft, AFAIK. Based on the many specimens I've seen, it's really only the caterpillar stages where you sometimes see prickles (for defense).
And of course, you generally do NOT want to touch such creatures, as the prickles tend to release in to one's skin, and can be anywhere from itchy / irritable to amazingly painful.
