Walking through the Panamanian jungle, I was greeted by one of nature's kindest smiles.

Sloths, like this brown-throated three toed sloth, were not all that uncommon. Finding one eye level, up close and personal, and on such a clean perch however, was an entirely different story.

I am so privileged to have had such a lucky encounter with such a special animal. I hope you enjoy one of the many photographs I took of this little dude :)
