Ted Cruz tried to insult James Talarico’s masculinity. It backfired immediately. “Nothing is more masculine than leaving millions of Texans freezing while Ted Cruz ran away to Cancun.”

Dude had his wife insulted by Trump and still bowed down to him. Real manly behavior right there.

That's the thing. They think it is. It's alpha/beta behavior.

Because Cruz knows that if he didn't kiss the ring, he would have been voted out by his base.

No matter one's political affiliation, sexual preference, gender identity, nationality, race, creed or other demographic identifier, all can agree that Ted Cruz is an unmitigated jackass

Al Franken:

I like Ted Cruz more than most of my other colleagues like Ted Cruz. And I hate Ted Cruz.

Except voters in Texas. Unless you're arguing they are pro jackass which isn't an unreasonable take at this point.

Oh they know he's a jackass, but what's more important than anything is the R next to his name.

As a Texan, I know the cities are genuinely trying. The problem is primarily the rural folk (note I didn't say all).

Talarico's greatest own is just not being a giant PoS. The bar is low. Its insane that other politicians, and especially Republicans, are even able to run at all, much less be elected.

the GOP has focused almost exclusively on discrediting him by attacking his masculinity and accusing him of being gay or trans.

Unfortunately this has proven to be very effective.

They don't have anything else to attack him with and they're scared shitless. It's also kinda funny calling him out for not being married when his opponent, Ken Paxton, cheated on his wife and the whole affair was discussed publicly in the Texas legislature where the wife was an elected official. There's nothing wrong with being unmarried, there's a lot of stuff wrong with being a cheating POS like Paxton on the other hand.

You know what? If anything, being single makes him a better candidate, I think, because he doesn't have to spend time taking care of his family.

Talarico's greatest own is just not being a giant PoS.

That and constantly citing religion for the people that refuse to separate their religion and politics.

it is effective because they own the media and they repeat it 1000 times, the public has cero chance

No, it's effective because being gay and trans is the heat death of the universe, as far as these backwater rednecks are concerned.

Al Franken's immortal quote from his time in the senate still stands on its merits:

"Here's the thing you have to understand about Ted Cruz, I like Ted Cruz more than most of my other colleagues like Ted Cruz. And I hate Ted Cruz."

I find it especially rich that Stephen Miller would call a scandal-ridden home-wrecker like Paxton as "God-fearing" when Talarico is a Presbyterian seminarian.

Christian Nationalists aren't Christians. They worship a twisted and selfish god unable to sacrifice anything to save anyone from anything.

Pretty sure "Christian Nationalist" is just a fancy way of saying "Nazi."

I still find it sooo very instructive that the right wing tried to smear him as being vegan, because being vegan is coded (but not really all that coded) as being gay/womanly in the rightwingnutosphere.

Wasn't their all time hero a vegetarian?

Nothing is more masculine campaigning for a guy that called your wife ugly.

Before you criticize someone's body odor, make sure you take a shower.

Ted Cruz is to masculinity what lard it to steak.

Lard is rendered from pig fat, tallow from beef and lamb. Suet if from beef and lamb kidneys where piss babies like Paxton and Cruz belong.

Uh oh. Someone sounds scared that they might lose their job

Yet they keep re-electing this AIPAC puppet

Fellas I dunno if reposting Twitter roasts is newsworthy. Ted Cruz is a fucking joke and American politics are deeply unserious, but surely y'all got more important things to report on than random Twitter posts.
