Best thing I did for myself with gaming is giving up this mindset. I used to force myself to do this and quit on a lot of games I probably would have otherwise enjoyed. I enjoy games much more now by just looking up the thing that's bothering the hell out of me and keeping me from progressing.

Some developers are idiots and think that the solution is so obvious when it is really not, or that the average gamer will have the time and patience to sus out their complicated design.

I used to feel shamed looking it up, but now I understand it is bad development and design if they created such a poor level that I have to look up the solution to finish it.
