Microsoft's GitHub capacity crunch sends it to AWS

Microsoft is adding AWS capacity for GitHub after AI-driven usage strained the developer platform, exposing Azure constraints and the infrastructure cost of agentic coding.
Kind of typical Microsoft, to fail their main service and have to use someone else who's slightly less bad at the same job, but also equally bad on security user rights etc... Kind of like how their browsers run on chrome now.
How is AWS bad on security?
Well actually that's probably not a great thing to call, I'd say probably about equal to MS on it, but data rights etc... I certainly don't trust amazon strongly. Honestly though the outages make me very nervous on it, as the US east 1 was more or less reported to have to do with the increase in AI usage, and realistically both azure and AWS are leaning in that direction, which is pretty likely to result in a huge security flaw down the line.
I mean there is the CLOUD act.
GitHub was great tool for Microsoft to funnel users to Azure. How did they fucked that up? Next they will integrate with Anthropic and lose copilot revenue.

They already have.

Oh sure because AWS is so stable
Oh look more money for bezos!
I have no use for github except as an oauth provider for tailscale. I can't wait to be rid of both of them.
netbird. I was looking at all the tools recently and discarded tailscale because it requires github/google account (or self hosting authentication provider or self hosting headscale). I'm logging into netbird with my email and it works great. It also easier to self host than headscale but I didn't have time to set it up yet.
I tried netbird for a while but it was using too much battery on my phone.
Yeah, I noticed that but for now it's acceptable for me. There's an alternative client in f-droid I will try later.
