This was a video 9 years in the making. An interview with the founder of the classic Japanese video game studio Compile; Masamitsu "Moo" Niitani. He is responsible for creating and overseeing the creation of dozens of classic games from the 1980s and 1990s. Many of them influential SHMUPS that would help define the genre for decades to come. If you gamed on the NES, Master System, Genesis and SNES back in the day, you very likely played on of his games.
We discussed many topics ranging from what game development was like in the 1980s, to specific games that Compile worked on. Niitani San was very gracious with his time and was enthusiastic to talk about anything video games. He is also a regular streamer on YouTube where you can see him stream anything from his development sessions, to the games he's playing to singing and playing guitar!
