So domestic AI spying is ok, just not from the USA?

No one in the world will ever trust America again.

Let's not be hasty. There are enough money-hungry people without morals that would jump at the possibility of making money with USAians again if in any way palatable for the public. Look at how quickly big tech bent the knee to Trump and his fascists. They don't care where the money comes from as long as it keeps flowing.

To be sure that the US isn't a threat anymore, it would need another crazy president like Trump who alienates everybody for longer. Without that, well, business as usual will be resumed. Foreign politicians will jump at any chance to pad their pockets too.

I agree, they'll certainly still be willing to exploit us for profit. That's not the same as trust, though.

That's, not a good thing. Privacy should be a human right.
