Spotify has been pissing me off recently. Repeated pop up (internal) ads, and now this. Are there any alternatives that don't require selfhosting?
Cherry on the top: The new widget doesn't work.
I use Apple Music on my phone and YouTube Music in my car and they work fine for me. No ads and so far nothing AI. YMMV.

I'm sorry, didn't see if it got a widget. Anyway there's Metrolist (which is basically a fork (the same app but modified)) that got 4 widgets.

Unfortunately, they don't seem to have discovered regional pricing.
It's bigger so they can show far more things for you to click on.
Except there are actually fewer things it shows. The previous track button is missing, for one
