I don't think too many people realise this, but the reason Supreme Leader Comrade Kim No. 3 needs those nukes so badly isn't so much the US - it's to keep China at bay. The US doesn't stand a chance of winning a conventional war on the Korean peninsula - not even with the entirety of NATO backing it up - and Kim knows this as well as the US does. The PRC, however, can easily end Kim's regime within 24 hours - and the only possible deterrent to that is, surprise, surprise, nuclear weapons.
