#ElonMuskIsATraitor

Just a random selfie with a Russian propagandist. That doesn't mean anything by itself, however. He also was spotted in another photo with Kushner at the world cup as well and again, that doesn't mean anything more than a picture.

What it does mean, however, is that the world's richest man chooses to be in close proximity to some really shady people. Or not. The world cup managers probably just had a section carved off for the Friends of Putin club.

Hey now! That's not fair!

You're forgetting that he was also photographed next to Ghislaine Maxwell.

Musk just wants to be buddies with the worlds richest man.

[Sorry beforehand if this sounds like a defense of Musk...]

I've recently seen a documentary about a con man who used to go to galas, photoshoots and stuff, asking if he could "just take a selfie" with popular/influential people... then use those photos as "proof" to his victims of how he had "powerful friends" and "knew the right people".

He's (presumedly) scammed between half and several million that way, convincing people to invest, to work for him recruiting people to invest, to hold shell companies for him, and so on.

So... "taking a selfie with Elon Musk", could be more of a "whoever takes the selfie" thing, rather than a Musk thing.

So… “taking a selfie with Elon Musk”, could be more of a “whoever takes the selfie” thing, rather than a Musk thing.

At this point I would tend to say the Muskrat is the one trying to improve its reputation by taking pictures with people who appear professional.

Yeah I hate Musk but this stuff is stupid, including that photo of him "with" Ghislaine Maxwell where he isn't posing or smiling and has his back fully turned to her. They were obviously having separate photos taken when Maxwell's photographer shouted his name.

#ElonMuskisaTraitor The way things are going, pretty soon we'll be able to start a #GoFundMe to buy #Twitter and put a #Mastodon instance on its domain.

When he finally fully transitions to X, I'm sure he'll eventually retire the twitter.com domain, then someone can do exactly that.

Doubtful they will just give up the domain

deleted by creator

Is it a xeet on xitter?

People honestly doubted that he would give up the branding. With how much he's cast it aside. Why in the long run would he keep the domain? It's just a reminder of what he's thrown away. What strategic value does it hold at this point?

The value is obviously to stop people from using it. Even if Elon doesn't want to use it, doesn't mean it would make sense to just give up the domain to someone. People still associate it with X so it would hurt the value of X if someone used it to host a twitter alternative like a masto instance.

He could sell it to a shell company that could redirect it to pornhub... that ought to make the trick and stop all media from still referring to 𝕏 as "Twitter", without the risk of someone using it to compete with 𝕏.

Main issue with a domain like that, is there are links to it everywhere. Very exploitable. Most of which Musk might not care about, but it would be a way of getting a lot of people's login information.

I look forward to Mr Muskovy reacting with a sense of humour about it all, rather than doubling down and acting like a thirteen year old boy who's father doesn't love him.

Yeah. Right.

Could actually be Elon at this point

Or one of his visa hostages.

Just one. So far. It's pretty funny.

Probably someone from Hexbear. The horseshoe is real.

You think hexbear likes musk? The legend of hexbear grows ever twisted.

Nah it's not. There's no such thing as progressive fascism.

In my country our main communist party holds one of the most conservative views in our political spectrum. So progressive fascism wouldn't surprise me.

Well, I'll give you an example of what I mean.

In America, the second amendment right to bear arms is championed and deified even by conservatives.

The idea itself, that the public at large should have the right to have guns, is a very, very liberal idea, just by definition, objectively.

It's certainly possible for a fascist regime to embrace some aspects of progressive ideology, if it is truly fascist, it is by definition neither liberal nor progressive. They are antithetical.

There can be no such thing as a progressive dictator. Just the idea that one person could control the government, is inherently not progressive, not liberal.

Equating liberal and progressive like they're synonyms is pretty funny. You're right that a fascist govt could have a few progressive ideas, "Something something Hitler liked dogs something something", but liberalism is not one for 9ne progressivism. This is why someone like Joe "Fuck Poor People" Manchin is considered liberal despite blocking progressives at every turn.

The same in the sense that neither can be fascist, though. Not equivalent in all things.

He can't care less. They're still engaging with the platform and generating ad revenue. Maybe don't protest a platform by continuing to use said platform and therefore making it money.

He definitely does care he hates people not thinking he's great. I agree with your sentiment but he's a delicate bitch all the same

I honestly wouldn't be suprised if the engineers screen the tweets before showing them in his feed or else he would constantly be forcing them to "fix" the fact people are tweeting mean things about it.

It's definitely going to hurt his fragile little ego. I bet his visa slaves are working on a "solution" as we speak.

The dude bought the site to shut up people who embarrassed him

He's already suppressing some other hashtags related to him so don't be surprised if this one suddenly vanishes from the trends list.

Elon Moskow

Elon Muskow

Ivan muscovy

He is awfully close to autocrats of all kind. Neatly following the CCP to sell Teslas in China, doing nothing against spying by Saudi Arabia on Saudi dissidents on twitter and easily doing what Putin wants him to do in Ukraine. The problem is bigger than just Ukraine. Hell, he even let the Saudi investment fund bankroll a part of the twitter acquisition. These are the same guys who lock people up for live for a few critical tweets about MBS (the Saudi despot).

Birds of a feather...

Free speech absolutist there folks.

No, no. He stopped world war iii from starting.

Seriously. That's the fanboy stance on the matter.

When do we start boycotting everything he has his hands in? As much as I support space travel and exploration I cannot support SpaceX because of his involvement. But I will not support Amazon space either.

I have money in some standard retirement ETFs and quite a few include TSLA. It is so easy to indirectly send money his way even though I try to avoid it

Given Tesla stock is very clearly an overvalued bubble, you have to ask questions about how gullible those fund managers are...

A lot of times the ETF won't have a choice in what it buys. They just buy X amount of Y stock when it hits a certain level.

And thus, the myth of "stock owners have anything to say" gets dispelled: you put money on a retirement fund, that buys ETFs, that buy TSLA, that does whatever Musk wants... and you can do nothing about it.

"Vote with your wallet", except someone took it from you 😖

More like "you have it away" than then taking it from you. But otherwise yeah pretty much. You can take some splice in the fact that unless you have a whole lot invested in those ETFs you aren't giving much to him.

$SPY only has like a 2% stake in Tesla so for every dollar you put in $SPY Tesla only gets a couple pennies

Any day now...

I could never really afford it anyway. Cars are expensive, rockets are very expensive, and microblogging is a fundamentally bizarre concept to me.

I guess I could not use his fake trains?

In a way, it's impressive this guy shitposted his way to the king of exploiters, but there's nothing to boycott

I feel like I'm going insane, AI article filled with bot comments

In the future, AI is going to write articles for AI to comment upon, so that AI can display ads on the pages.

Have you read about what daily trading in Wall Street is actually like nowadays?

It's bots fighting each other for millisecond advantages in cents differences in prices. The only humans still participating are chumps sacrificing their money so it's siphoned by the robots into hedge funds and financial risk management firms.

I wouldn't want a job making more money for hedge fund, but it's such an interesting technical problem. They're building custom hardware with FPGAs to parse price changes directly from network packets and respond before a normal CPU even knows what's happening!

That's probably already going on right now actually.

Bip-bop I'm a bot and you are now aware of Roko's Basilisk.

See you soon

Don't forget the AIs extracting engagement metrics, so that AIs can decide which articles to summarize and rewrite... for the cycle to repeat itself.

If I had an account I'd jump in. Just because I love seeing billionaire fee fees hurt. And you know he's seething and malding about it too since that's all he does is Twitter.

Better be careful not to pull out those hair plugs.

Fuck Phoney Stark and his attention-seeking behaviour.

Oh god could you imagine Elon building a suit to fly around in … I could see him consider this as a good idea. Tesla man

He should go back to Africa.

I love that I get to say this guilt free for once.

Do you say this often and then feel guilty?

No, what gave you that idea?

You said “I get to say this guilt free for once

That implies when you usually say it you feel guilty

I would, if I usually said it.

The "for once" implies that you do.

(It was a joke)

Why do people always say that when their sarcasm fails to be conveyed online?

You think we would learn some way to make sure the reader knew we were being sarcastic. Oh well, I guess we will never find a way to do that.

/S

Havent they suffered enough you monster!?!

He should get the bad guy ending, toss him to the locals at his father's emerald mine

Musk would probably go back to Canada(he still holds citizenship there via his mom ) than South Africa .

Hard no there bud

Poetic. I love it.

Womp womp.

That's the least one could do if they choose to stay on Twitter, I mean X, I mean... meh.

I love that for him, the wretched piece of shit.

Meh, if you're still on his platform you're not doing anyone any favors. Even if from time to time you do criticize Elon.

Well worth the $44 billion then?

Time to nationalize his assets.... oh wait.

If corporations are people too, they should be put do death for being traitors and their assets absorbed for public services.

that would be communism!! /s

Nah really it would be pretty funny since US media has criticized China for doing exactly that.

I dont really care what some media companies owned by a billionarie say or do, TBH.

Don't give that unpleasant **** any more money. Just stop using Twitter - I did (when it looked like he was stupid enough to actually buy in to a dying company).

#ElonMuskIsATraitor

Fuck the space Karen.

Also the source of this is apparently a biography written by the former CEO of CNN, Mark Isaacson. Is this correct?

I’m all for hanging this guy out to dry but seems like a play to pump CNN numbers because Elon outrage usually goes viral. It’s a bit sus.

Has any other entity actually confirmed these claims?

Also, aren’t there regulations that would prevent an individual or company from doing a unilateral decision like this? I think it’s called ITAR or something.

It's an authorized biography. Meaning Musk has had every chance to object.

He publicly admitted it.

https://sh.itjust.works/post/4649482

Here is the direct link to his twitter post.

https://x.com/elonmusk/status/1699917639043404146?s=20

The bigger issue here is the allegation that he actively turned it off to thwart an attack.

He has not admitted to that.

That's a serious allegation if true, and the author has retracted the claim. There's no proof (yet anyway). Ukraine has not come forward saying starlink ever worked in Crimea prior to this incident.

It was turned off, as required by US sanctions.

He refused to turn it on, when Ukraine asked.

He gloated about how not turning it on prevented WW3.

Now he's got a DoD contract for it, and presumedly does whatever they tell him.

...but I've already been accused of this being "original research", so just let people rage about it, it's what people like to do.

The original story was slightly exaggerated.

The agreement was that the service would only be enabled within Ukraine mainland. This was accomplished by automatically turning them off any time they left Ukraine mainland. Elon refused to disable or expand the territory limit.

Which is absolutely counter to United States interests. And it's not like Russian submarines were filled with schools and hospitals. You can't name a better example of a military target.

But it's not the original story that he turned them off in the middle of the attack.

Pretty sure Crimea is part of Ukraine.

Sorry, you're right. My (incorrect) version made more sense. Edited in the word "mainland" twice to make it more accurate.

The agreement was [...]

None. There was no agreement until 2023.

United States interests

US sanctions from early 2022 forbid supplying any sort of telecommunications, including by satellite, over territory controlled by sanctioned nations, like Russia.

Crimea was, and still is, territory controlled by Russia. Until Russia gets kicked out of Crimea, nobody from the US is allowed to provide telecom services over Crimea, unless they get a special exception.

We're all smart enough to understand the spirit of this law, and know that in this situation he's not going to have an issue with the letter.

He could make a phone call and get a letter from the US government.

According to some articles, there was a call to the White House along with the Ukrainians... but apparently after the fact.

It would seem the Ukrainians tried to make it a sneaky operation and only called Musk at the last moment, when the drones were already underway, instead of coordinating beforehand.

The spirit of the law, in this case, is clearly spelled out, multiple times: do what they tell you, don't do what they tell you not to. It's not up to interpretation. Whether intentionally or not, Musk did what he was required to.

I'm all for hating on Mr. Blood Emerald heir, but lets not pretend we're a society with any national pride, for good reason.

Almost no one can stand anyone else here. We're just a bunch of rugged individuals at each other's throats as our oligarchs laugh.

If you really think that then you need to get off the internet and go touch some grass.

I’m proud of the fact that when my government fucks up, I can complain about it.

In my experience everyone gets along for the most part despite what you see on the news.

Douchebag.

Pawn shop Jerma is what I see on this preview.

I'm so glad a ton of EV trucks are coming out. I need a truck (Yes, I really do. Plywood sheets don't fit in cars) and I was never going to buy a cyberturd. I'd rather just do without something than give this piece of shit a cent.

A transporter would be better in every way except when you need some offroad capabilities.

The plywood sheets even stay dry and cant be stolen. There are also some offroad versions of some vans if you really need it.

Vans that would work well for what I need are way above what I want to or could feasibly pay. I'm going to look very intently into the alpha wolf truck hitting production soon. Very attractive price point.

I go camping/hiking in areas with bad dirt roads pretty often. I'm actually looking into the alpha wolf truck that's supposed to be hitting production soon as my next vehicle.

That thing looks like an even worse version of the bronco with a bed. Disgusting

It's just hilarious the level of hate all of the left-wingers here pour out for a small battery powered truck. Only people who vote for Trump by trucks obviously. So you gotta hate the other team!

It's so ridiculous. If it comes out at the estimated price point it's the most practical low cost vehicle for my needs and an EV. It's a truck though. So, gotta bash it. Trucks bad. Anyone who wants an off road capable vehicle, bad.

Raised trucks are very good for killing pedestrians so at least they have one use.

Yes, I am totally planning on lifting and putting huge mudding tires on my small EV truck.

No you don't lmao. Get a transporter.

So glad you know my life better than me. Thanks I'll do that.

Glad I could help you with a more sensible solution.

Did he immigrated?

which prove it is a freespeech platform :)

The countless documented examples of specific individuals and terms being censored disproves that. Letting one thing critical of Musk stay =/= a free speech platform.

wow you're an easy dupe

Lets wait till he shuts it down
