I loved Hyperion even with its misogynistic parts,

Isn't it strange that you can write a book about destroying an entire planet full of people and no one bats an eye; but if you include a political hot topic suddenly half of the population is protesting your book.

I would understand if he's actively promoting an idea but I don't think most books do that...

HBO Told ‘The Pitt’ to Make ICE Storyline More ‘Balanced’

It actually happens quite often when hospitals don't meet the standards set by CMS.

Funny that no one calls it fascism before the hot topic of the day enters the conversation.

A large hospital corporation can easily stand up to the government.

No....no it cannot. No hospital can afford for 50% of their revenue to disappear overnight.

Would be a short game of chicken when 30 hospitals close all at once.

Unrealistic.

It's my boot, and it tastes like your tears.

The only context I can imagine for this episode is ICE has a suspect in custody and brings them into the ER for evaluation.

The detainee drops their sob story.

ICE drops their reason.

Much Drama

So Tears

Very TV

Wow.

Uh. See how fast your Medicare funding gets pulled when you refuse to cooperate with the federal government.

Know what happens when a hospital loses federal funding? Immediate closure; practically zero hospitals can function without reimbursement from Medicare/Medicaid.

That being said cooperating with ICE doesn't mean snitching on patients, or holding patients until ICE arrives to take custody.

The only context I could think of in which healthcare would need to cooperate with ICE, is it ICE beings a suspect into the ER for evaluation; in which case it's critical that healthcare cooperate with ICE.

Alright, when can I get my 150,000 nitt television that's viewable on the surface of the sun?

I realize this joke probably isn't even touching on the actually use case of this technology, but it holds up.

Haha, there's not much I wouldn't buy at a 95% discount.

Playstation is next; Nintendo has the securist market with its portable console.

I would think hand helds like the steam deck would be slowly strangling it but the switch 2 sold like hotcakes.

Whats going on here?
