Christian right calls James Talarico "demonic" — for quoting Jesus
3d 1h ago in nottheonion from www.salon.comI'm from a region with snake handlers and it is fascinating! Highly encourage anyone reading this to look more into it.
There is a pretty significant portion of America Christians who believe than any translation besides the 1611 King James version of the Bible is blasphemous, nevermind that they are probably reading the 1769 version, but what matters is what think is the 1611 version.
Decades old puzzle solved as scientists uncover cause of inflammatory bowel disease
3d 6h ago in science from www.ox.ac.ukSuper cool research! However, it says that the genetic marker is only in 3.5% of patients, so it may be better to say that they found "a" cause rather than "the" cause. But that's still ok because that could eventually translate to cures or at least enhanced treatment for many thousands of people!

Amazon data centers used 2.5bn gallons of water in 2025
4d 1h ago in technology from www.datacenterdynamics.comDepends on how you define a data center, but you mean the large single purpose data centers that have been hastily built investor bait over the last 5-8 years, then yes, most of those use the evaporative cooling towers that concentrate waste products either already in the water, or added to prevent corrosion because they cheaped out on the plumbing, and then dumps that back into the local water source.
