Preferences of Otome Gamers // A survey of Japanese players, with English results

3 of the guys feel kind of mysterious. Maybe that is just me and the game differentiates them better.

I do wonder if they'll do anything with her holy position. That made me wonder (bit of a tangent): I am curious how interested a Japanese audience, that I assume has more exposure to Shinto and Buddhism, would be in works exploring Christianity, especially from perspectives of people who faced religious abuse. Would they find it an interesting story of stuff that someone in a foreign country might go through? Would it not resonate because the popular Japanese religions and culture around it are different enough for it to be unrelatable? The hearsay I found online in fandom spaces suggests they might think Christianity is cool, though not sure if that is just an aesthetic thing.

OVER REQUIEMZ – Non-Spoiler Review – lycoris

Always happy to see small indie blogs like this!

I feel otome is niche enough our reviews are not flooded by bots pretending to be human and paid-for fake reviews, but it's still nice to see what's clearly a small independent site made by a person just offering their opinion.

I know the DARK routes will appeal to some of my friends and I find it interesting too because it can reveal aspects of what the character could be but didn't become if you did a different route.

Because of her black eyes and black hair, she is imprisoned for being “demon-possessed.”

oh boy, these folks finding out about what most people look like in our most-populated continent of Asia would go over so poorly. MC is isekai'd, presumably from Japan, so I wonder if she thinks the same thing that I just wrote…

Thanks for rechecking!

I went and assumed bot annoyance was about bots masquerading as people and outright bot spam, not legitimate use of bots to automate predictable posts (like weekly posts or relevant updates from a particular site). The fact you are bothering to point out that you never said the bots was unmarked lets me know I assumed incorrectly. Sorry.

One of my alts is on .zip. I was unaware we had bots that do not mark themselves and are unobtrusive. Can you show me some examples? (Genuine ask, not me trying to say "you're wrong" in the most passive-aggressive way)

Pleasure seeing you here! I was pretty excited for this

Artstyle is very not my thing, but relevant to otome and single indie dev, so figured I might as well post

man it's depressing how relevant it has become now, instead of a sci-fi philosophy thought experiment
