I don't mind wheeliebin. We have a tendency to naff-ify everyday items so they always sound unglamourous - witness Brit garage "garidge" vs US "gararj"). In Australia they were called "Otto", after the company that made them.

Not sure which words I'm uncomfortable with.

I try not to use Twat even though it can still happen when I'm really exasperated.

Also loo and bog for toilet I avoid. Only bog is really off limits though.

If you like a lot of chocolate on your biscuit … look away now

Inevitable. Can you make the ends thicker again then even if it isn't really chocolate. Oh and bring the raisin one back.

We need a MythRadio (MythTV DVR, but for radio)

There have been a few attempt to realise a better use for the EPG like the Pure Evoke-3 radio that had epg and recording (I even remember the Psion Wavefinder from the early 2000s that used software on a Windows pc and let you schedule recordings) but sadly the nearest we got to any usable nin-internet radio recording option with epg has been via Freeview, Freesat or Sky satellite boxes but that wouldn't necessarily get you access to all the stations on DAB.

Pick a yes, no and maybe cookie!

Ah good. I just don't get the Oreo obsession. A ginger or custard cream (hell even a bourbon biscuit) yes but I'm just not an Oreo fan. Opinions and tastes obviously vary.

Yes=pretzels, No=Oreos (get the hell away from me), Potato chips= maybe

Blimey. Garibaldi's. Much beloved by my Gran when I was young. Used to call the fly s*** biscuits. Lived in Australia for a while and often miss Anzac biscuits. Tesco sold them here for a while but we just make them out of necessity.

Seen in my supermarket this week.

Seen similar locally. Went in a B&M and the Xmas aisle dwarfs the Halloween aisle. It used to be little Xmas stuff until after firework night (November 5th).

It's a funny old world but I'm not always laughing.

Rachel Reeves considers replacing stamp duty with new property tax

9mon 3d ago in unitedkingdom@feddit.uk from www.theguardian.com

Sorry I meant a change this big would require a 2nd term to implement and it's that which looks unlikely.

In opposition Labour talked about replacing council tax with a charge with would be 0.5% of the value of the property you lived in which would halve our bill but obviously mostly increase the bills for much property in London and the south east.

Can't see them being in office long enough to even implement it.
