Mick Gordon - Doom 2016 OST
5d 2h ago in vinyl from feddit.orgLikewise. I think you already found the place.
No worries, good thing you linked it!
That is exactly what I meant with ID Software and Bethesda fucking over Mick Gordon. Really sad end to this fantastic collaboration.
The soundtrack on Youtube, longer and not the same order though
Mick Gordon's fantastic soundtrack for the Doom reboot from 2016 on double LP. I guess a lot of people here are at least familiar with it. If not, this is a super heavy mix of industrial metal, djent and electronics. One could argue this soundtrack made the game what it is. Easily on my top 5 video game OSTs.
Before this, Microsoft and Rare hired Mick Gordon to do the soundtrack for the Killer Instinct Reboot from 2013. Then followed four soundtracks for ID Software/MachineGames and Bethesda. The Wolfenstein reboot from 2014 and its sequel in 2017. The Doom 2016 reboot and Doom Eternal in 2020. The Doom Eternal OST was equally phenomenal, but sadly accompanied by ID Software and Bethesda fucking over Gordon. That ended their cooperation in what I would describe as four of the best soundtracks in gaming.

The best games of 2026 so far
5d 9h ago in games from www.theguardian.comI would agree with them, it was a bit on the nose. I would argue that may have been on purpose though. I have the feeling the developer wanted to get their message across and went all in for that, instead of using analogies or keeping things a bit more vague. The rest of the game is too well written for the politics part to be this way because of a lack of writing skill or creativity. Maybe they just really wanted everyone to understand what this is about.
Like I said, it is very much on the nose, but I can get behind that, if the dev thinks that is something we need right now in the world. Which I would agree with.
That list is incomplete, Esoteric Ebb is not on it.
Cheers to Keiko

Squid - Bright Green Field
6d 3h ago in vinyl from feddit.orgThe debut album of this fun little band from the UK. Funky, rocky, artsy, sometime punky. People compare them to The B52s, Radiohead, Talking Heads. I don't know, I think they are pretty much their own thing, but obviously influenced. Fun fact: The drummer is also the vocalist.
