Xteink X3 review: Why you might need a 3.7-inch e-reader in your life

Nothing new for Amazon. You should see what they did to everyone's Comixology collections. I spent good money purposely buying manga from Comixology as they were the only store with high-res copies. Guess who replaced all those books with low-res copies when they shuttered the Comixology servers.

The Death of Washington Post Book World and Why Criticism Still Matters

2mon 5d ago in books@lemmy.ml from www.currentaffairs.org

Apparently, steering the entire industry towards women's interests by flooding the market with books about fucking animals and mythological beasts doesn't require any high-level criticism. Whodathunkit? Shoulda seen that one coming, her type of "criticism" is what led us here by only ever recommending women authors. She should have realized long ago that there's no need to criticize works when you might accidentally reveal it's all slop geared towards the lowest common denominator, which is why reviews of any type are a rare find in the written word these days; they actively harm sales.

Shocker, this idiot can't help herself, even after losing her job, with this joke of an interview going on about incels and looksmaxers, yet another woman obsessed with sex. Even as reality rears its ugly head, this woman who helped destroy the very industry she worked in just keeps on going down the same pathetic path. Congrats, you turned the book industry into a porn industry for women, and guess what, porn doesn't require a review, you already know what you are getting.

How to survive the Kindle apocalypse

You go into brick and mortar stores for the specific purpose of seeing what you can break, and then leave?

It's a shame that's a worry, but with how they've been killing all the other useful features, I wouldn't put it past them either.

Boox and Kobo are more my speed, along with Supernote and reMarkable. Plenty of e-readers to choose from, though it is sad to see devices like the Kindle Keyboard slowly killed to the point it is now only a reader for sideloaded content.

Google Search is now using AI to replace headlines!

Y'all do know Kagi is literally using AI to rewrite the news, right? Not only the headline, the entire body too. https://news.kagi.com/world/latest

If you think Kagi of all places is gonna be safe from AI, think again. They are all in on the AI hype train. They might not be selling your data (yet), but best believe you're paying them to train their AI.
