DRAGON Air Defense System Integrated Into Ukraine’s Air Defense Network

1d 3h ago in ukraine@sopuli.xyz from militarnyi.com

The Soviets produced a lot of them and I doubt that they will be used in an air-to-air role due to being too short ranged. The advantage of them is that they have their own seeker, so even the Houthis managed to use them as a ground based air defence system, as they do not need radars or anything like that.

It will be interesting to see what Israel will do. This would be a defeat for them. Currently they have two options for a victory. One is to defeat Hezbollah to the point that the Lebanese government takes full control over the country. The other one is to finish the genocide in Gaza(aka kill everybody). To me especially that one sounds like it might happen. Israel needs to kill the peace deal and this would look bad for Iran, as they are seen as a sort of protector of Gaza.

It also might just about keep Netanyahu in power, as taking Gaza would make him a hero for radical Zionists.

If you want to hurt Chinas economy, that is a great target.

Ukraine said that Russia has had 27 operable Tu-22M left in 2023. They lost seven after that claim. Also the main factory working on bombers has been hit.

Solar generates more energy than coal in US for 1st time

3d 2h ago in technology from abcnews.com

Coal is mostly used to produce electricity and steel. So more electricity from solar then coal is actually good news.

However oil and gas are much harder to replace, but again we actually have a lot of the technology, it is "just" about rolling it out on scale, which is hard.

and 160km longer

and WW1 broke the Russian Empire. Also deaths of the Russian Empire were 1.6-1.9% of the total population. So it is getting to that point, which is kind of crazy.

Western governments rallying around anything is a stretch these days. Also it is hardly only the West. Chinas GDP growth targets are just madness for example.

China and Russia are not members of the ICC.

Also most of them are pretty happy that Trump is busy bombing Iran and not them. But also all of them are lowering dependence on the US as much as possible, but are quite about it. At least the EU also does not like the Iranian regime terribly much.

Iran is the size of Afghanistan and Iraq combined. Both in population and area. The difference being that none of the former allies will help out with that in any meaningful way, besides maybe using their air space and the current US bases in Europe.
