Its almost entirely just because it has the word demon in it. They hear that and stop Listening my sister was 17 when it came out and my parents still wanted to ban her from watching it it didn't matter that we explained the cultural context around the Korean setting, it had demons and was therefore evil. We did eventually convince my mom to watch it and she did admit that it is explicitly anti demon. But it still shocks me how much it took to get her past the word demon.

Possibly but it also sounds like there making some legit improvements.  Maybe reserve judgment until they actually say something problematic.
