When computer is what?
1y 1mon ago in funny@sh.itjust.works from lemmy.mlI've owned many boards and have never heard of such issues. That sounds like a really cheap one, or inexperienced company.
I've never had issues with many switches between Cherry, Kailh, Gateron, etc
A lot of the better brands include LEDs too. It's just another checkbox on the product comparison sheet. Not like you can't shut em off anyway
Make your products in America or pay tariffs, Trump tells World Economic Forum
1y 4mon ago in world from www.dawn.comThere aren't even natural reserves for every mineral/gas/etc in the US. A lot of the more advanced ones go into making computer chips, let alone their coveted Stargate AI chips. Setting up manufacturing/processing sites for each one based on imported raw materials isn't a sudden feasible 4 year project either (yes yes I know assuming 4 years is all this crap lasts)
WTF

Mmmm... SPICY!
1y 5mon ago in politicalmemesTheir spices are great! I really like the Arizona Dreamin one, great on eggs, makes for really good fry sauce seasoning. A lot of their spices are salt free too, so I can really control the amount of salt in my recipe
I did notice that they sometimes include political things on the bottle, usually without naming party names, so them being this direct seems a bit new. They always give you your spices with like 3 "I voted" stickers in the bag too.
Don't you worry!

AI will reduce workforce, say 41% of execs in a survey
2y 2mon ago in technology from www.theregister.comAs someone scripting a lot for my department in the tech industry, yea AI and scripts have a lot of potential to reduce labor. However, given how chaotic this industry is, there will still need to be humans to take into account the variables that scripts and AI haven't been trained on (or are otherwise hard to predict). I know the managers don't wanna spend their time on these issues, as there's plenty more for them to deal with. When there's true AGI, that may be a different scenario, but time will tell.
Currently, we need to have some people in each department overseeing the automations of their area. This stuff mostly kills the super redundant data entry tasks that make me feel cross eyed by the end of my shift. I don't wanna be the embodiment of vlookup between pdfs and type the same number 4+ times.
So what's everyone's New Year's resolution?
2y 5mon ago in dadjokesRecently upgraded to that same res recently. I don't usually care for Alienware, but damn this ultrawide OLED awesome to game on.

2y 9mon ago in me_irlAs someone who sets up international computer wafer shipments, there's plenty reason to be afraid of foreign customs lol. One little mismatch in the data and they get on your ass. Certain countries are especially picky too
