“consumers can not afford them.” - fixed it for ya. IMO a better way to express this analysis would be to say that expected MSRP was set too high and market is now correcting to increase demand. Place the blame on auto execs for setting the prices way too high instead of saying the people are just not wanting them.

They got sent not just M1 Abrams tanks but the M1A2 SEP (think of adding a pretty extreme luxury package to your favorite car). It’s an important distinction because many items go from mechanical to touch screen for the driver, gunner, and TC. The mechanics will have some extra work to do but the operators will have a LOT of perks. Lots of get-up-and-go in those things + improved optics and interfaces all around. I operated one of these tracked beauties in the 00s. Had a fun time every time I got to drive/load/gun. It’s a solid improvement for sure.
