Disney Lorcana Challenge Dortmund Recap
2d 20h ago in lorcana from www.disneylorcana.comYeah. I think it kinda kicked off when the big Pokemon Go event/tournament was held there bck when the game was super popular. Definetely nice to see stuff happening there, even though I haven't lived there in years.
Absolutely surreal to see my old hometown on here. We used to be known for nothing but steel, coal, and beer. Than football, and Neo-Nazis. Now we also have card games, apparently.
Swiss voters set to reject population cap in referendum
2d 23h ago in world@quokk.au from www.abc.net.auCould well be, but I think they're mainly just xenophobic, which is more than enough explanation for their support for the failed referendum. I don't think they used road capacity in any serious ways in their campaign for it.
The Swiss actually have really good public transport, all in all. They also have a lot of conservative shit heads, but you can't really draw conclusions about transport in a country from one conservative propaganda poster.
Rain is woke and lightning is DEI
3d 8h ago in politicalmemes@lemmy.ca from lemmy.caThat's kinda overly anthropomorphising. They are a statistical model that uses the number of occurrences of tokens in association with each other to predict the most likely next token. You can do that with pretty much any training data and any text. The current very large models will have almost any kind of text in their training data, including unhinged manifestos, racist tweets, etc.
Since models are stateless, getting them to produce that kind of output doesn't change or worsen them in any way.
There's translators like deepl that are good enough at keeping tone, or at least structure. This sounds more like giving an LLM the input to formulate a message that says a list of things, not translating a message written by you.
Also, I assume this is your website - https://sherlockprivate.com/.A lot of functions flat out don't work. Links in your footer are broken. You don't have a privacy policy. You use Gmail as your main address. It all reads like a sales pitch for people who don't know a lot about privacy or encryption. It's also, subjectively, not very pretty. None of this inspires any confidence.
If I had a penny for every time I saw an AI written text about someone emphasising being a manual labourer of X years, talking about having built an App, in a post which is clearly written by AI, which use English not being their native language as an explanation for the AI usage, I'd have two pennies, which isn't a lot, but it's weird it happened twice.
Honestly, there's more mature projects that already do all that, and I wouldn't really see a reason to switch to a possibly vibe coded project, especially if I planned to use it for anything important. Also, most alternative messengers suffer from the network effect - most people won't switch to a new messenger if they're already using another, even if that other has clear deficiencies.
Also, this whole 'I'm a woodsman that wrote a word processor' thing feels like marketing copy. This isn't shark tank, you don't need a sob story. If your app is good, and you work on it consistently, people might join you in working on it and using it.
"Scammers have adapted": Valve confirms that physical Steam Gift Cards are dead. Once the current stocks are sold through, they're done.
6d 6h ago in technology from www.windowscentral.comNew Maestro Card haven't been issued in a while. If you'd replace that card now, you'd likely get one cobranded girocard/MasterCard instead of girocard/Maestro. Works just like a credit card online. There's a few banks thag issue girocards with no cobranding, but that's rare.
Even most Sparkassen have started giving out a cobranded Master/Visa by default.
So what you said was true 10 years ago, but likely isn't/soon won't be anymore.
