Als Münzen noch aus Gold und Silber waren, war es weitverbreitete Praxis, von den Rändern heimlich etwas abzufeilen um nach einer Weile aus dem gesammelten Gold- bzw. Silberstaub neue Münzen zu prägen.

Electric guitars where a game changer for customization and embellishments. With acoustic instruments, you can add only so much before the sound is negatively affected. With electrics, everything except maybe the neck is fair game!

One trowel to rule them all...

Silver presentation trowels – sometimes called ceremonial trowels – are tools that are used to commemorate the construction of a building. These presentation pieces are recorded to have emerged in Europe in the 18th century, with widespread use occurring by the later 19th and early 20th centuries.

Fascinating. I've never heard of this tradition.
