Not justifying in any way, but I think it's part of the nature of single player sports, where it's always you against the world. Combine that with a sport like tennis, where 0.5% skill difference is the difference between receiving millions and living on scraps. You see the best players in the world crack.

I kind of remember that being an issue way back when the Steam Deck launched. Ever since I always launch games after docking. Bummer to hear it's still an issue.
