Anyone feel like their mind feels extremely meta—thinking behind one's own thinking and a constant sense of sinking emptiness?

What's your current fixation? Do you have one? Do you want one?
4d 10h ago in casualconversation@piefed.socialOGs! I haven't reached 20 hours though so that makes sense. I've gotten really into buying the originals to play on console
About how long did it take you per game tho? I’m playing the original three gens and it’s taking me forever! Sounds like you had a fun time
I meant China the object hence the use of "nice things."
Conclusions are left as an exercise to the reader.
Thanks for the ignorant reading and sassy comment. Another worthy block!
My PhD being insanely difficult for me has made me go through a couple fixations or hobbies with a few sticking.
Bourbon has been present the whole time. It went to a big problem to a passion from COVID to now. I am better. After that I got really into China after watching a video about having nice things for your daily life.
Then I got super into rebuilding iPods.
After getting introduced to torrenting and Jellyfin I became obsessed with selfhosting, running servers, and Linux. I had six or so servers in my past home and now two in my new country. Since everything works that has somewhat become less interesting to me.
Upon arriving in Japan my love for Game Boy's has exploded and I find myself exploring old games. T
he past few months spurred on by an invitation to make a workout music playlist I've gone from not running for over a decade to running 32k. Love this obsession with challenging my body as the result is losing over 10kg! :)
Some smaller fixations are blogging on my servers. Taking hand written notes and planners. Recording important moments. Managing household money.
did you finish all of them or just play them
I discovered new healthy hobby

What's a hobby you thought you would dislike but ended up enjoying?
1mon 8d ago in casualconversation@piefed.socialRunning, servers, Linux, and fatherhood.
Running has shocked me the most, just randomly got into it and now I can’t stop. One day I just went out and ran a 14k and now I’m planing my eating according to running.
Is there a way to auto backup from iPhones?
1mon 22d ago in selfhostedI don’t see notifications in the setting. Premium has auto transfer for 2,500¥ which is like 15$ or so, but I think I only paid 5$ for pro which is enough.
It’s on my home screen, I do it once a day or so. Depends how many photos you take. I probably have close to 100,000 from 2017 to today so I back them up regularly.
Yeah, I use it every day and have synced over 80k photos and videos to my servers with it. I absolutely love it. I know of no other option and I do not trust Immich or Nextcloud sync. I have never ever had an issue with photosync and if there is ever a rare error it tells me why.
I have it set to rsync to my local server. I open the app. It has already selected the recent media that is unsynced to said location. I then press sync and it does it in the background.
I believe the paid level above pro has some sort of auto sync based on location but I chose to not get that because I didn't need it.
Super, super recommend!
Has anyone successfully got the docker container for TRMNL, Terminus running?
