I originally tried immich on pikapods but at the time I was having trouble with family members being able to log in and view photos. I switched to Synology photos because it should just work and has for the last 2 years or so. I have regretted it for the sole reason that it entirely relies on Synology.

I don't have an answer for you, but I am very interested in any replies. Immich looks like it has matured a lot since I last used it (over 2 years ago).

Your fire alarms most likely have a CO detector, not a CO2 detector. I don't really know the point of a CO2 detector, though, so I agree with you on everything. Just get a few more indoor plants if CO2 is a concern.

I use KeepassXC on my computer and Keepass2Android on my phone. Passkeys work fine and are synchronized across my Synology.

You may need to include a path. You might need to add each of your Shared folders separately. I have had this issue with Samba before where the host was browseable, but you could not mount the whole server.
