I use both CachyOS (on my steam deck) and pure Arch on my Desktop, and Laptop.

I like both. But I just don't feel like reinstalling my OS, though I was investigating using the CachyOS kernel and Repos within my current Arch install; and ultimately decided I would go CachyOS if I really wanted those optimizations. Not sure what performance gain from that switch I would realistically see.

I am not opposed to either route. Whatever tool fits the job. CachyOS on my Steam Deck because I didn't want an atomic distro, even if I do see the benfits. I have had good experience with CachyOS on my Steam Deck.

Your reasons and mileage may vary.

The games draw for me is growing up with Disney and the story that is admittedly complicated and out of order with bitw of lore sprinkled in through mobile games. The boss fights and fan service I quite like. It has a lot to do with growing up with it. Starting with 3 would be disorienting fir sure. 2, 3, and birth by sleep are my favorites. The first one aged a bit badly in my opinion but it was its start. The combat it Birth by Sleep is different with cycling moves with reuse timers instead of having a mana system.

Different games and different genres for different people. Its a great series. I love the gameplay and I love the story and world.

Thank you! Didnt realize today last year was the day I created my Lemmy account. And what a present with this and Kingdom Heart 4 trailer.

If they release a physical copy of this, its a day one buy for me

Glad to help. Another Lemmy user also suggested https://web.8bitdo.com/which does work for some controllers.

Benchmarking CachyOS vs Arch: is it just hype?

I did however go from Windows to Arch. It wasn't a bad experience, and using command line isn't a big deal (to me at least.) But I am not the average Windows user. (Background in IT, for over a decade now. And I enjoy this stuff.)

So mileage may vary.

CachyOS is nice, I have used it; and I quite like it. I still use vanilla Arch for my machines outside of my steam deck.

I had bought 8bitdo controllers before switching to Linux. Was always bummed they didn't support Linux natively. My next controller will be the Steam controller.

This is nice to know! However, not all controllers are supported I am seeing.

The older Ultimate Controller 1 does not work in V2 unfortunately
