Over time your body builds up a tolerance. If you aren’t able to take breaks from medicating your dosage will go up as well. Just note how you feel on the medication compared to unmedicated. Does the dosage last your entire day, do you have less noise in your head. These are things you want to remember to talk with your doctor about.

I’m also in my forties, but wish I was exhausted at the end of the day. I’m on Vyvanse and have trouble relaxing once it wears off for the day. It’s like someone said it’s time to wake up all of the thoughts now and on the Vyvanse it’s steady single mindedness.
