Eurosky has setup a relay
7d 11h ago in fediverse from lemmy.dbzer0.comI don't see why it's a mistake. People simplify stuff, and those who care about such things (mostly us) will know the difference. If I explain what is mastodon to regular people, I just say "a twitter clone". People don't care about how this things work under the hood, it's just a minute detail.
What mistake?
openmediavault 7 approaching EOL
8d 12h ago in selfhosted from www.openmediavault.orgYes, it's mostly about special omv packages, they won't get fixes and updates anymore. They are coming from omv's own repos, and they may break, this date is not a hard deadline when something will stop working, just a heads up. As you can see the date was published only 2 days early.
We are trying to grow a new FOSS collaboration community.

Map depicting pre-WW1 Europe
21d 1h ago in map_enthusiasts@sopuli.xyz from media.piefed.socialIt's should be from 1878-1885, as it shows Eastern Rumelia as a somewhat separate state. It was an autonomous province of Bulgaria for that 8 years; https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Eastern_Rumelia
I couldn't find anything to narrow it even more.
But it has some errors, e.g. Austria wa called Austria-Hungary at that time
Coathanger Cursive Writing, Brian, Brenda, Naomi
27d 17h ago in artshareBut how do you put your coat on them? Or is it just made from a wire coathanger?
I assumed they have a hook somewhere like this:

(It's just a random photo I found)
Very nice! Can you take a photo from the side? As where do you hang the coats? Some parts are protruding?
modulejail: Proactively shrink a Linux host's kernel-module attack surface by blacklisting every module not currently in use
27d 23h ago in pulse_of_truth@infosec.pub from github.comIt's a reaction to one of the recent vulnerabilities found in the kernel: the hackers failed to notify maintainers before publicly disclosing the bug, so no fix was ready. The easiest way was to blacklist the module containing the bug, until patches were published
