Trying to decide between Hetzner Storage Share (managed Nextcloud) and Hetzner Cloud (VPS)

You can export and import calendars and contacts as .ics and .vcf files from/to Nextcloud.

The mobile apps even have a setting to do this automatically on a schedule, they're saved to your files in Nextcloud. It's a bit strange it's not a server-side feature, but it's there anyway.

Many Nextcloud apps only store their data to the database, if you end up using those, you'll be reliant on Hetzner's backups with Storage Share, and you can't get those for yourself. I don't think you can get a db dump from Hetzner even via customer support.

A VPS will start to get expensive if you have more data, but you can just lift-and-shift that to a home server later.

I really don't understand this "Nextcloud does too much" rhetoric, the standard bare metal installation is basically just Files, Photos, Calendar and Contacts. Also a built-in text/markdown editor. Everything else is an add-on, which needs to be installed separately.

This bike has went through a few prior owners, all have apparently been happy with the windshield. Might be that I'm just the right height to have my head where the air is rising from beneath the windshield.

I was actually looking if I could adjust the screen, then noticed the lower mounting brackets had cracked welds. Been looking for replacements, but it's not easy since there's not many of these bikes where I live. They're some alloy metal so fixing the welds is out of my league.

Soo, someone was backing up their on its own local disk, instead of something outside the VM which runs HA 🤦‍♂️

Pro tip: use symlinks instead of copying files, the backup is near instant!

Trying to import data exported from other PieFed instances produces an error message.

I'm also currently unable to import settings from neither another Piefed or a Lemmy instance, same error as in OP.
