as for weather protecting, that's a good point. i guess i didn't think this through bc where i live it is mostly warm all the time (it rarely rains, except for specific seasons). maybe i should just place the books in places with roofs or other types of weather protection

it'd be nice if i could see miniatures of the archives (so that i could see what i'm picking). i've mostly solved this problem by ordering the files according to the order they were modified last, though

I use Cinnamon too. It shows the thumbnails on the folder itself, but when accessing it through other apps/sites it only shows in this list format.
