The assumption of pride for Germany is unlikely to be accurate.

With the recent rise of right-wing populism in the most recent European elections, xenophobia is most likely the culprit of suppression of pro-human-rights posts. Xenophobia is driven by nationalism. I wouldn’t put too much effort into separating the two. They go hand-in-hand.

At least name the mod.

Look at the modlog. No names. If it matters to you, feel free to ask around and report back. You’re looking in the wrong place for answers. I don’t know which mod lacks respect for human rights or who has the anti-immigrant positioning. Find out which mod hates immigrants and you’ll likely have your answer.

Do you hate Germans, KBin or Lemmy?

Try not to look for hate. Any emotion you think you’ve worked out is probably wrong based on what you’ve said so far and also irrelevant. Focus on the actions. E.g.

1. mod of a privacy forum censors report of German police stopping Shengen border crossers to demand ID.
2. someone in another forum claims Lemmy is free from Reddit shenanigans.
3. comment about suppression in ① is given in response. (some ppl speculate German police demanding papers is somehow irrelevant to privacy)
4. mod of germany@feddit.org censors ③ to cover up the act of censorship.

Item ④ could be driven by excessive pride for Germany, policing thereof, xenophobia (immigrant hate), or Lemmy, hard to know, but abuse of power is the result nonetheless. If someone wants to test it, I would say make a pro-immigration post in !germany@feddit.org and also make a post about some Lemmy shortcomings (but relevant to Germany) and see which gets suppressed.

Good tip. I get the impression they only want service manuals and exclude user manuals. I do have some service manuals to contribute so I’ll be considering ifixit for those for sure.

I guess they wouldn’t want the user manual I just scanned. A search of their docs db doesn't show any user manuals so I suppose a user manual would pollute their archives.

well, shit.. it looked good for a moment but then I discovered it’s a Cloudflare site. CF is harmful to digital freedom and netneutrality. OTOH, I can see that they at least whitelisted Tor and the registration requires no information. But I see no upload mechanism, so it’s apparently not a way to contribute manuals.

i’m not sure what an MC is, but I don’t see how to search for manuals on that site. After I upload a manual, how do people find it?
