A new era for your wellness: Introducing the Google Health app

May 2026's Pixel update is here to fix charging speeds and camera app freezes

That was the initial thought, but the 6 and 7 series got consecutive updates earlier this year, and this month's update includes the 7a (but nothing earlier).

I think it's just a case of limited resources. "These devices failed our monthly update testing, so let's hold the update until next month".

I guess this is how Google has chosen to support older devices. Can't complain too much, since Google extended the support window when they didn't need to, but the missing security updates are a tad concerning.

You didn't watch The Batman or The Penguin, I guess.

Thirst-bait? What's the meaning behind that? Are you just saying "they cast a hot woman so it's bait"? Please elaborate for me, as I truly don't understand your comment.

Can't speak for Germany but in the United Kingdom it's Palestine Action that has been officially declared a terrorist organisation because they stormed an army base. That means it's illegal to protest for Palestine Action, but you can still protest in support of Palestine.

The opposite, actually.

Have you seen memento before? The 2nd and 3rd viewings are the best!

Smoking ban for people born after 2008 in the UK agreed

Great news. Some people cry about government overreach but this is a good thing. It's insane that we still have entire industries around tobacco. Vapes aren't going anywhere for those after 2008 who want to smoke, and the lack of tobacco in their lungs will be a net plus for the NHS.

Yeah you're responding to a bot whose instructions are to wax lyrically about OSS and anti-Google sentiment.

Where would you have the runoff go?

All phones sold in the EU to have replaceable batteries from 2027

1mon 28d ago in hackernews@lemmy.bestiver.se from www.theolivepress.es

I don't like the idea personally, because the replaceable battery version would be priced up, and likely not given the flagship experience. The point of this law is to prevent ewaste from 2 year old batteries performing badly, and standardising replaceable batteries is the way to stop that. OEMs would just find ways to convince users to buy the phones with no replaceable batteries because they make more money long-term that way. I don't trust corporations lol.
