Energy regulator Ofgem announces 13% increase for energy bills

20d 22h ago in unitedkingdom@feddit.uk from www.thecanary.co
  • Because of the energy pricing system the price of energy at a given time depends on the price of the most expensive component which is gas. So if any gas gets used at a given time then all of the energy produced at that time is priced at the same rate. The government have said that this system will be changed.
  • Much of our energy is produced in Scotland but consumed in the south east. Expensive infrastructure is needed to move the electricity to where it is needed. What is worse this system won't get better over time because there is no incentive for industry to set up close to the electricity source.
  • The UK has a few problems in general with building infrastructure making it expensive. These jobs are often contracted out instead of done in house by the government which can inflate costs. Additionally the planning system can be difficult to work with in the UK as residents have more power to stop infrastructure projects than in other countries.

Why not use a zero trust VPN like netbird? It is fully open source.

You can create a reverse proxy that requires a password to get through to jellyfin. I think there is a limit of like 5 for this though (unless you pay or self host).

I've never understood this debate, how can you compare an operating system to a text editor?

Not the best solution but I will leave it in case no one else comments; maybe consider a different vpn provider that does not assign a port on every connection such as mullvad. You should be able to follow this example: https://github.com/JamesTurland/JimsGarage/blob/main/Torrent-VPN/docker-compose.yml

They have partnered with a (secret for now) hardware vendor so we should have other options in the future.

It works well for me. I did hear that there was bad support for baking apps but they seem to work fine.

I have had trouble with ride hailing apps as they seem to use googles integrity API.

On android newpipe is probably best like an earlier comment says. On linux I would look at the following list:

Dioxus version 0.7.0 released

Look at how many actual projects are using dioxus vs leptos. I believe some. Of the projects listed on the dioxis website are no longer maintained.

GitHub stars can be bought very easily.

The only annoyance is that after an update by bluetooth controller gets disconnected.
