13d 12h ago in drumsI have only tried two pairs (started using them about two weeks ago), but those I have tried have been nicely paired.
It's not a 100% match, the Tama sticks are a little bit heavier (3.5g) even thou they are 4mm shorter, but it's close enough for me :-)
I did notice a small difference in sound when playing on the ride, sounded a tiny bit clearer, but nothing noticeable on the recordings we made.
Surprised me too :-)

cheat sheet
26d 11h ago in drumsI have seen minor differences in how people notate their drums, this one seams to be a relatively good guide:

(from https://www.onlinedrummer.com/pages/drum-key)
The one they use at Drumeo is a bit different, and some people have their own little tricks. I like to use an x inside a circle to notate an open hihat, and use half circle to notate half open hihat, and so on.
I like to place my bassdrums on middle D and C, makes it easier to read imo, but yes that's the general idea, with cymbals above, pedals on the bottom and individual drums in the middle.
My new setup
28d 12h ago in drumsUnfortunately the low end x-hats doesn't work well with a pedal, so this one is just permanently closed. I mostly use it for when I'm playing double-bass pedal and need a closed hat, but it's nice to be able to play sweeping strokes from the ride to the hat, makes a nice sound imo.
Thanks :-)
