Are people generally approachable / want to be talked to at goth clubs?

I'm really interested in goth culture, and want to step out of my comfort zone and go to a goth club sometime soon.

Unfortunately, none of my friends are goth (or really alt at all) so I've got no easy way in. I want to meet people and make new friends, especially people I can go to concerts with, so...

are people at clubs generally cool with strangers striking up conversations, or would it make them uncomfortable?

I'm not shy per se, but I always worry about putting other people on the spot or something, so I tend to not talk to new people unless I'm specifically at an event where I know its okay to lol.

Dunno if goths tend to be more talkative or would prefer to be left alone.

Also, I'm a metalhead, and dress like one (lots of black clothes, leather jackets, combat boots, maybe a few rings).

Seems like a lotta places have an implied dress code, and I know I don't fit it exactly — would I stick out noticeably?
