"Racing is in the DNA of Star Wars": Galactic Racer makes more sense for the Star Wars universe than Palpatine somehow returning ever did

Fuse Games and Lucasfilm explain why a racing game makes perfect sense for the Star Wars universe
Making more sense than Palpatine somehow returning is a pretty low bar.
But that doesn't mean they can't fuck it up anyway...
Racing happened twice in the entire set of movies, and one of those times was a background horse race where none of the main characters were involved and the results didn't matter.
The Death Star trench run and the speeder bikes in episode 6.
Plus every chase scene, except perhaps the mopeds in TBoBF.
That was like watching a wheelchair race in a retirement community.
I'm guessing because it was actually a practical effect? At least it looks to be one. Like, real driving.
Wow. A chase so boring they focused more on the incidental pedestrians around the main characters. Look, a C3PO! Look, an R2D2! Look, bop the nose!
Chase scenes are not races. When 2nd place catches up to the leader, they don't swap positions and keep going until the finish line, they shoot them.

George Lucas is famous for being a racing nerd. That gave us the trench run in ANH, the asteroid field chase in ESB and the speeder chase in ROTJ.
And let's not forget Super Bombad Racing!
Racing was very central to much of what happened in Star Wars Resistance as well.
