What was that bot that would read all your posts and tell you who you are?
3mon 18d ago by sh.itjust.works/u/TheLeadenSea in asklemmyI feel like I remember a bot a while ago that you summoned it somehow with a username and shortly later it would respond with a summary of what it knows about you as a person based on your comments and posts. Does anyone know what happened to it? I'd like to try it out again, if it still exists
I recall what you're talking about, but was it even attached to the fedi? I thought it was a xitter thing to compare your style to others.
I remember a Reddit bot that does what OP is asking about, but I never saw it here.
I asked Google to look at my reddit profile and it hallucinated that I have a son, despite that not being the case and me never having claimed or said anything like that. It got at least some other stuff right.
You can literally pass your profile link to an LLM and it does a pretty fair job
Here's what I got on google:
tell me about reddit user JohnDarlenHimself
Based on recent Reddit activity as of early 2026,
JohnDarlenHimself is an active user who participates in technical and
philosophical discussions, often in Portuguese.
His activity highlights include:
Privacy & Technical Support: He is active in the rethinkdns
subreddit, where he has sought assistance with DNS proxy
configurations and troubleshooting.
Philosophy & Debate: He participates in the FilosofiaBAR
subreddit, engaging in deep discussions about human experience,
labor, and social structures.
Broad Interests: His profile interaction suggests a focus on
open-source software, digital privacy (such as the r/degoogle
community), and the social impact of technology.
Would you like me to look for his specific posts or contributions
in a particular subreddit?
Reddit's AI blocking is because they want to charge money for AI scraping. Google paid the money so they are allowed to scrape.
They probably use the search bot workaround. They don't train their AI on reddit directly but they scrape a ton of data for search then train on that. See? No rules being broken.
That's interesting, it wasn't even close for mine. I also asked it about my name on lemmy as well as reddit and interestingly enough it gave almost the exact same answer lol
No Google AI, I'm not interested in the Lostwave community, neither on reddit or here lol
You can ask google who Reddit user x is and it gives you a summary
I heard about this but remain deeply skeptical about whether it would actually work: Most of the shit people claim "AI" can do seems to be bullshit.
The cool thing about lemmy is that you can download your data as a JSON file. I think you could upload that to any LLM chat bot and they may be able to do something similar
I can see how to download my settings as a json, but how do I export my whole profile?
Heck I might have been thinking of pixelfed or misread that export thing
