If you live in Washington or north Oregon, check out the PNWAL

I’ve been a member for some time and it’s a great group. Regular range days, lots of friendly and knowledgeable people. We’re always looking for new people who like to have fun and shoot some guns.
(Obligatory this is not a militia- just a group of people who advocate for gun rights for all and like to have range days together)
I like the idea, but am pretty skeptical of a new org (2025) with just some vague statements about mission and lots of specific questions before membership. They talk about activism and lobbying Olympia, but its unclear what that means in reality.
Is this self funded or sponsored by someone? Why are the board members obscuring their full names? It makes it really hard to research an org if everything about it is obscured.
The website is so generically leftist with no real detail that it doesnt feel genuine. I dont want to assume ill intent, but it strikes me as something to at least avoid until the org is more mature.
It’s entirely self funded with the intent to pursue non profit status in the near future. The reason for obscuring personal names is security; given the current admin’s attitude toward leftist groups (especially armed ones), we encourage all members to use anonymous names for an extra layer of personal security should the group ever be compromised by bad actors.
The website itself is relatively new and a work in progress, hence some areas feeling rather bare. That said, I totally understand the skepticism and went back and forth myself back when I joined. I’d be happy to try to get you in touch with a board member if you’d like to chat further about what the group is and does!
