Reminder: Gathering appears to take priority over dig orders, so once food is plentiful remove the gathering zone or keep it small.

I noticed the other day that a hundred dwarves were at risk of dehydration but were taking years to finish a simple waterway dig, turns out they were all out gathering plums instead of digging.
